Thomas Guy, President Tom is a past President of the Surety Association of Michigan and a director of the Construction Financial Management Association. He presently serves on the Producer Advisory Board of a major national surety company and is an active committee member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. Paul Hurley, Executive Vice President Paul spent two years with a national broker beginning in 1999, then joined Tom Guy in forming the agency in 2001. Michael Lechner, Vice President He is active in various associations including MITA, AGC, NASBP, MCA and WCA. Mike holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Ferris State University, and did graduate studies at Walsh College of Business. In January of 2009 he became an agency shareholder.

Rich joined GHBH as Vice President, shareholder, and manager of Property-Casualty Operations in early 2009 from CNA Insurance where he served as Vice President and Branch Manager of the Michigan Region. Rich has also held various executive positions with both CNA and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Companies during his 23 year insurance career. Mark Madden, Account Executive Mark joined the agency in 2006 after spending 5 years with Safeco Surety (now Liberty Mutual Surety) as underwriter and territorial underwriting manager. He has worked with client companies of all sizes, and brings to the agency valuable experience in financial analysis. Since joining GHBH, Mark has added insurance as a core competency. Mark is a past officer of the Surety Association of Illinois, and a committee chair for the Greater Detroit Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Paula Martin, Esq., Vice President Paula joined GHBH in 2009 as Vice President of Claims. Paula brings 27 years of legal representation and litigation experience, including 16 years as the Managing Trial Attorney for insurer CNA’s Michigan Staff Counsel Office. In addition to utilizing her considerable expertise in litigated claims management for the benefit of GHBH clients, Paula has obtained her Producers License, and will be representing a variety of commercial lines and employee benefits clients.She was a featured speaker on the topic of litigated claims at the 2009 Michigan Association of CPAs Select Conference in Novi, MI. Paula holds a BA degree from the University of Michigan and JD from Wayne State University. |

Leslie Loftus, Chief Operating Officer--Veritas Benefits Group
Leslie founded and manages GHBH’s employee benefits division, known as Veritas Benefits Group. She brings over 25 years of benefits experience to the job, including seven years as Vice President of Operations at a large insurance agency, 15 years as a Human Resource Generalist, and four years as Operations VP for a start up health plan. There she launched two commercial HMO products and managed six outpatient medical centers.
Leslie is an active speaker on a wide range of benefits industry topics and has authored a book, as well as various articles on benefits. She holds a Masters’ Degree from Central Michigan University and a B.S.B.A. from Lawrence Technological University.

Margaret Kohloff, Account Executive Margaret joined GHBH in early 2002. She has over 20 years of experience servicing and producing surety bonds and commercial insurance for all types of contractors in Michigan and several other states. Margaret is a former officer in the Surety Association of Michigan. Jay Cummings, Vice President
Jay joined GHBH in mid 2010. He brings over 25 years of experience as a commercial insurance agent. Throughout his career Jay has excelled at producing and servicing commercial clients in a variety of industries. He has extensive knowledge of both the real estate and automotive parts/supplier business and places property/casualty programs for several major real estate developers.
Jay is a member of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society. He holds a B.S. degree from Central Michigan University and a Michigan insurance counselor’s license.
