Michael Eckert

Mike has over 30 years’ experience as a safety professional, including over 20 years in the insurance industry at both the carrier and agency level, which included leading two risk control departments. His background also includes seven years as Director of Safety for the Michigan Road Builders Association, and over 30 years serving his community as a paid-on-call firefighter/EMT. Eckert is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM); and a Certified Authority on Workers’ Compensation (CAWC). Mike is active in and a frequent presenter for several safety and construction related associations and groups, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Michigan Safety Conference.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family at his northern Michigan beach cottage and hacking his way around the golf course. He lives in Brighton, MI with his wife Deborah and Golden Mountain Doodle mix “Howie.”
